The list of all the forbears of Lofar."
Dvergar form families based on a common ancestral hero: Motsognir and Dvalin are some examples. Upon becoming a gundurz they select an ancestor of their choice and add the ancestral hero's name as their last name. Example: Varguni Motsognir, Dragund Dvalin.
When a gundosh becomes a gundurz, he announces his chosen ancestor publicly during his oath taking. During his promotion test, he will be asked to tell something about his ancestor.
From then on, the dvergar will call upon his ancestor for aid in battle and regale his comrades with tall tales of his lineage.
Below are listed the ancient heroes and ancestors of the Dvergar taken from the Norse Eddas. Last names permitted are those in bold.
